Tixati provides in-depth and comprehensive data on the peers that you’re connected with, from the amount of data you’re sharing with them to their likely location based on their IP address and the priority you’ve set them in your sharing schedule. Still, it’s where it goes beyond that helps separate it from some of the alternative clients out there. It supports all the essential primary functions of a modern torrent client, like magnet links, connection encryption, and event scheduling. It might look retro compared to some of the other torrent clients on this list, but Tixati is one of the most fully-featured. That makes it an excellent tool for a download and distribution server, as well as a standard torrent client for individuals on their home system. You can let it run in the background or control it remotely. Some of those - like notifications, IP blocklists, Scheduler, and Extractor - come built into Deluge’s current version, but many more third-party options are available.Īs it downloads, Deluge functions entirely well as a desktop client, but it can be run as a service instead. But if you want some of the more advanced features, you can heavily customize Deluge to your liking by using its expansive range of dozens of plugins. ![]() It’s lean and quite bare-bones with its base installation, which is perfect if that’s all you need. ![]() DelugeĪnother free and open-source torrent client that we’re big fans of is Deluge. However, it does tend to favor more experienced users compared to beginners, who may need to spend a bit of time learning the extra features. It’s a finely tuned balance, and the software works well across these major platforms: MacOS, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and OS/2. You can also choose to give any torrents top priority, create torrents from your own files, and more - without losing speed or becoming too confusing in the process. There are plenty of features to love here, like the in-app search engine for locating specific files, a bandwidth scheduler, and support for extensions including those for private torrents and encrypted connections. Totally ad-free, qBittorrent is focused on functionality for frequent torrenters. It should be noted that torrents are sometimes used for illegal piracy, and Digital Trends does not condone that use in any way. If you’d like to pair your client with a strong VPN service, we can help you out there, too. Check out our list of recommended torrent clients to learn about these and more. There are the bare-bones ones like Deluge, or if you’re looking for something with fuller features, then Tixati could be your next torrent client. I forgot to check those.Do you think that the 7x would be good for Voiceovers ? EDIT: the solo clips might still be hitting the UAD 1073 and Elysia Alpha plugins on the drum bus. There are a variety of mix plugins on the full drum kit, but the solo snare mics are the raw audio with no treatments. Gear used is Presonus Quantum on the voice test. V7X is its own monster entirely with a deeper bass range and broader high frequency peak. ![]() The SE mics have no transformer by the way. Subtle stuff but I'd rather have these than all SM57s or whatever, I like the variety. Just a little more airy and clear sounding, where the SM is a little more stout sounding with a bit of sheen. The V7 has a very similar frequency response to the SM57/SM58. I'll have to do a guitar/bass test one of these days. Next clip is the V7 in a drum mix, then solo'd.īottom line is I'm glad I have both versions. ![]() It doesn't have quite as much punch.įirst clip is the V7X in a drum mix, then solo. The V7 sounds slightly thin in the bottom and for some reason picks up the annoying ring in my snare more. I think the V7X has more crack and oomph due to the lower bass response and slightly brigther tops. I think the proximity effect is way too much on the voice for me on the V7X, hence the V7 which is tuned for voice. Please note this is not a performance, just a quick and dirty test. First test is some "vocalizing" into both mics.
